House Refurbishment, 2017
Gilkes Crescent

Extension, refurbishment and over-cladding of an existing 1930s house following Passive House / Passivhaus principles.

The house is situated on Gilkes Crescent near Dulwich Village SE21. It comprises a two-storey side extension and a loft conversion, the project took the floor area of the house from an existing 160 sqm to a final 310 sqm. The existing house was retained but over-clad in a layer of insulation and thin brick slips that match the bricks used in the extension giving the impression that a new house has been constructed on the site.  With the new insulation the new house has outstanding thermal and environmental properties.
