We proposed a series of viewing points to be located at a number of sites across East Lancashire. The structure is intended both as landmark, provider of geographical information and seat. The structure is designed to embody these simple functions in a single fluid form. A helical spiral projects out of the ground providing a curved surface on which a map is etched, as the spiral progresses further it drops down to form a simple bench, the form then curves steeply upwards to form a beacon. The structure would be fabricated from stainless steel polished to reflect the surrounding landscape and weather patterns.
